I am going to get really lazy with posting for a while now to catch up on what I missed here at home while I was...not...here. That is how tired I am. Enjoy this New Yorker profile, meanwhile? And the witch/teen angst vibes I'm feeling for fall (more here and here):
Chloe Sevigny, tarot, Venetia Scott, Corinne Day, Wednesday, cats, The Craft (source unknown.)

Loved the New Yorker profile, Tavi- just finished reading it and I'm an "old" woman! I've been following your blog for a while now and really enjoy it. I wish I had the nerve to REALLY dress how I want to. That's the thing I find most admirable about you. Once in a while I wear a vintage Lanvin dress that I scored at a thrift shop. You'd love it. Shiny fabric printed with scenes from Venice.

Love the tarot cards! And the cheerfully creepy little girl by the graves (which on closer inspection read Bluebeard's Wives, Little Red Riding Hood, and Queen of Scots... Why? The world will never know), who is a cross between Wednesday from the Adam's Family, and my six year old neighbor who is adorably adorable. It's a juicy contradiction.

Check out my blog, si vou plaite.

this rich kid's blog reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...specifically:

Veruca Salt: Daddy, I want a squirrel. Get me one of those squirrels, I want one!
Mr. Salt: Veruca dear, you have many marvelous pets.
Veruca Salt: All I've got at home is one pony and two dogs and four cats and six bunny rabbits and two parakeets and three canaries and a green parrot and a turtle, and a silly old hamster! I WANT a SQUIRREL!
Mr. Salt: All right, pet. Daddy'll get you a squirrel just as soon as he possibly can.
Veruca Salt: But I don't want any old squirrel! I want a *trained* squirrel!
Mr. Salt: [wearily] Very well. Mr. Wonka? How much do you want for one of these squirrels? Name your price.
Willy Wonka: Oh they're not for sale. She can't have one.
Veruca Salt: Daddy!

I finally got to settle down with what is now last week's New Yorker and read the article about you.
1. It sort of freaked me out in the same way that something I remember from when I was 14 or so, called "Kids Did It" in some kid magazine, which always made me feel pressure to do something cool when I was a kid, but x40 since now I'm not a kid and I still haven't "done it." but also, and more importantly...
2. I have really enjoyed reading your blog - discovered through the also amazing Spencer Tweedy blog - and really admire you and what you're doing. I think what one of those Mulleavy sisters said explained it perfectly - the "wish I could read that book again" feeling. It's great to rediscover the world through your lens and get all re-excited about it. Thanks for that!!
