its like she banged her head on the keyboard and said what the heck, let's name the baby that

Today I wore one of the dresses Yokoo gave me and I looove it. As soon as it came in the mail I knew I had to put it with these Pamela Mann tights from mytights.com. Pink is a rare species of plaid!
And a warning if you plan on buying the tights: The magenta is MUCH more purple in 3-D life. OMG, life exists outside the internet?Had to add a different color between the patterns just cos it felt wrong otherwise. Black pencil skirt over my purple tutu skirt. Also my black cape because there wasn't quite enough black.
Yesterday I received some fun things in the mail from Jen, including some pins she got in Japan (I'm wearing 2 here) and a bunch of music + Bob Dylan stuff + Sprouse for LV-esque dress + THAT Vogue Alice in Wonderland editorial with Natalia (sooo happy to have it in print). One pin has a bunny and stars and the other has the Chanel logo. It's fake, obvz, but I love how awesomely stupid it looks with totally non-Chanel things. Non-feminine and unclassy things, stuff that disagreeds with their "A girl should be two things-classy and fabulous" (personally not my kind of thing) aesthetic. A few people at school were all RIP OFF BLEH OFF WITH HER HEAD but the irony is so so good. Anyway, the pins were pink and black so I thought they'd be nice to add.
Thanks, Jen!These shoes have enslaved me and are all I wear nowadays.
And a neat picture (full ed here, giving me ideas for my Fisheye camera and bedroom walls!)[foto decadent]
dress and pins, gift. cape, secondhand. pamela mann tights via mytights.com, gift. gap tutu skirt. childhood closet black skirt. slow & steady wins the race shoes.

Hahaha love the pin. I can't count all the Chanel rip offs and my school with my fingers and toes times two. And that dress is really great. Looks decently warm too.

Your capes are so epic, as are the tights. And heh, one of my bedroom walls looks a bit like the picture, only without the cool all black/white effect.

Just amazing. That last one of you is so beautiful. You are so gorgeous, Tavi.

Oh man, I love this outfit. Plaid clashes FTW! Plus, is that a cape? I'm in love *_*

were you wearing pink eyeshadow too? I generally hate matching eyeshadow to outfits, but i think you could have pulled it off. pink eyeshadow kinda gives me the creeps, but in the photo above the fisheye photo it looks pretty cool.

Thanks guys!

Nicky-I'm not, maybe it's because my face becomes really red in the cold! Haha.

Annahlogue-Thank you very much for the scan, as no one had notified me of the article and they gave out far more information than I would have wanted. They didn't even email me about my pictures! Either way thanks so so much for letting me know.

he and she vintage-Ooh, exciting! I actually wear a size 2 US (sad, I know) but the ones here are I think a size 4 and still work fine.

ok sorry i couldn't resist commenting again. you've been really into plaid lately -haven't you?

just a guess.

Anonymous said...

yea for capes. capes are awesome.. practical.. inspiring and just absolutely cool.

the neckline on the dress reminds me of a comfy pillow mixed with the delights of an oversized scarf.

pretty bunny kitty pin. pins rock my world except when they ruin clothes in the wash.

Anonymous said...

i totally agree with fiercekitty. pins are stupendous! ya got a borng outfit(this an example that does not apply to you Tavi, you never have boring outfits)stick a bit of pin pizzazz on there and voila! helpful advice? nope!

Seriously, so many things to say, but its to be written in a little "blog-comment-box" thingy which obviously hints that I keep it short. But not only do you inspire me stylewise, but you freakin crack me up. I laughed the most reading your posts than any others in....ever. And, to top it off, it makes me remember that fearless 12-year-old (sorry-you must get that a lot- so sorry.) I-can-rule-the-world-and-you're-a-dumb-adult mentality I once had (like the Gym Lady who made you take off your hat haha). Thanks for the reminder and keep your zeal. You actually make me ashamed to be 23, and nearly not 1/1785464967 as witty. Okay, creep-mode over. Sorry if I scared you, yes this was (and will be) my longest blog comment ever.
