My friend Kiwi gave me this book of motivational posters from the '70s so I made it into my diary and it turned into a physical manifestation of strange magic.

(listen, watch) (the second one is kind of dumb but my point is that that song is in both of my favorite things)
Once I realized it aligned so perfectly with an aesthetic I like I think I really took advantage of being able to call the melodramatic teen girl-ness of it an artistic choice. Horses! Butterflies! Hearts! Heart lyrics! Fleetwood Mac lyrics! (Or what I thought were Fleetwood Mac lyrics until I looked at the record notes and saw that it's actually "I never did believe in miracles." Oh. Depressing.) Yup, all TOOOOOTALLY ironic. *side eye, snart*

Beautiful!
my grandma has a version of the 7th pic on her bedroom wall...it says "god, help me hang in there", though
i always love your little books
This is such a great way to rework those old books no one reads but still have interesting pictures.

Wow!! What a great and meaningful gift. So much time, thought, and love was put into it. *jealous* I wish my friends would think of something that unique! This is too cute. I just might use this idea for an upcoming birthday.....

I'm kind of just a little bit obsessed with looking at other peoples diaries ( not in a creepy way or anything, I totally respect people's privacy!). Its such a personal thing, and even little details like the cover, or composition of pages says so much, and it's so inspiring! I also obsessively keep journals.
Aside from my random rumblings though, your journal is gorgeous! So beautiful, especially the colours with your handwriting! It's goooooorrgeous.
what a nice friend.
insane! I need to get of the internet sometime.
omg ur perfect
wonderful, just love it!! xx

Loving the tactically placed hands! I wish I could be bothered to make more books like this, you are going to have so much fun when you're 40 discovering all this stuff in a box under your bed! Love that Fleetwood Mac song as well
I really like the page with the cat, the 'I love you' text, and that kind of floral wall-paper. Not only is it very cute, but for me it also has a kind of Wes Anderson vibe, that's just inspired me to put on TRTs right this very minute!
Oh god,this is too awesome!
this is perfect!

Love it!
Amazing . ;]
such a cool idea! this post rocks.
good job!
Amazing. When you're older, you're going to look back at this and revel in how cool you were.
When I was little, I always thought that Carole King was saying "you can't talk to a man with a taco in his hand" in Smackwater Jack. If ONLY.
Joni Mitchel, Carly Simon, Carole King, James Taylor, John Denver. I LOVE them and I always smile to see that you love a lot of them too.
I'm awful at keeping any sort of journal, and it's probably because I feel pressured to always have meaningful, profound thoughts or images. I like that you alternate earnest entries with lyrics and silly but lovely pictures.
This is ridiculous, but despite my love of feminism and fashion, I'm pretty sure I only ever comment at the sight of Carole, Joni, or Carly.
As someone who was a little girl in the '70s, these posters and lyrics gave me atmosphere flashbacks.
That's a pretty rad diary.
This is really really great! This post made me FINALLY email you about how you rock and I think we should be friends! I hope you read it!
LOVE this. Carole King, James Taylor, Fleetwood, Joni Mitchell. Don't make em like that anymore.

The idea of scrapbooking is actually uniquely English and American. A little known fact? The practice of leaving pages empty at the end of books for OTHERS to fill is called "grangerizing". Learn more art history here:

You have a keen eye for color and visual imagery.
OK. So. You must watch this classic Australian horror/mystery film called "Picnic at Hanging Rock." If my intuition is correct, you'll draw A LOT of inspiration from it--not only because of the clothes, but because of the general ambiance of the film... there's something lovely/remote/mysterious/Victorian about it. It's indescribable. Do watch the trailer:

They literally have those EXACT posters all of over the walls in my school, though they also have pictures of a sunset with bible verses on it or some shit.
They also have pictures of kittens with 'meaningful' quotes on them, i have always found them absoloutley hilarious!
