Antwerp was amazing! Fashion's Night Out was super fun! It is all a bit too much to write about while putting off homework at the Barnes & Noble cafe, right now. So meanwhile, it looks like only about 99% of my summer was spent watching Seinfeld, and the other 1% was spent doing a few things I'm kind of psyched about..

Such as outfit pictures for Afterzine! You were supposed to dress inspired by a book/book character. I was one of three people who did a Haruki Murakami novel. I think fashion bloggers have inherent telepathy with one another, or something. The other pictures are really great, and turned me on to a number of blogs I didn't know before. The rest of the zine has things like short stories or essays interpreting the term "negative space," fashion illustrations and photography...just take a look at this snazzy list of contributors:

Thurston Moore, you guys!

I also wrote something for Style.com. It is about fashion! And also style. You never know what to expect with me! Quite the card, I am! Etc.

They have a ton of fancy lists up right now in honor of their 10th anniversary. Two thumbs up, fine holiday fun.

I also styled a shoot for BlackBook? It was such a good time. We went to the Sticks & Stones Farm in Connecticut where they had tiny sheds and beds and it made the whole thing way more relaxing and fun. The whole team was really great to work with, and the model was really sweet...I won't talk about the clothes since they should speak for themselves, but hope you like it and all that. Also, they named it after the new Hole album! Aw.
Also, I was thisclose to stealing everything.

The secret life you have, I envy. :)
And as for the model, I believe she's the daughter of the mc-crazy housewife of New Jersey. I could be mistaken though.
Anywho, you styled her great. The pieces work in an unexpected way.

I've just finished reading your greatest hits - awesome choices. I've just recently been a fan of Galiano for his line and for Dior. Plus McQueen. I guess you could say I'm a big fan for theatrics and show performance.

The swan dress is absolutely crazy! Bjork was absolutely hilarious when she was laying eggs on the red carpet; I've might have peed a little.

And you're one lucky girl being able to style for an editorial shoot. Hopefully, you can post up the FNO pictures? Maybe when you're not in a state of delirium from your busy and fun life style.

Um, I think I've rambled enough.

Obai.

Oh and one more thing: I might go back to scrapboking because of you.

I really enjoyed looking through the images you compiled for your top 10 fashion moments. But I enjoyed even more your accompanying notes...

2003: Natalia Vodianova in Alexander McQueen, Photographed by Peter Lindbergh for Harper's Bazaar

Your imaginative reading of this image is seriously better than the dress and photo! It reminds me of another pretty good writer…

"...Everything shrank in the sun’s corrosive
Ray but Egg Rock on the blue wastage.
He heard when he walked into the water

The forgetful surf creamed on those ledges."

Sylvia Plath

hello tavi-
dont know if you know about this yet, but i was at fashion week this morning and picked up some newspaper magazine thing and you were mentioned inside--
[they had these terms they made up definitions for, and 'example sentences' haha] :D

'obsolescent-n
tween celebrity who has outgrown his or her popular appeal.
example; the way the Olsens bypassed the whole obsolescent phase post-Full House is unreal. only time will tell if Tavi can pull it off!'

Isn't it odd that a fourteen year old has accomplished everything we could possibly dream of achieving within the next ten years of our lives. I will probably spend mine working in a shop, studying and experiencing seriously teen-warped breakups. All the more, Tavi, rock on with your bas ass life, (can't believe I just said 'bad ass'. Does not sound right coming from a British mouth). The artice you wrote for syle.com seems really interesting. You live a very glamorous life for a preteen, you should be so proud of all you've achieved.
