marni!

12
I think at some point in my love affair with clothing I wanted to have an "effortless" looking style, but at this point I'm much happier in lots of jewelry and layers than a tee shirt and skinny jeans ("model-off-duty style!") even if it's obvious I spent a ridiculous amount of time putting it together. Consuelo Castiglioni, however, finds a place between these two that is just right -- not easy-breezy and not overkillingly detailed, just fun. The colors and prints are kind of blowing my mind and the mild pirate-beach feel is perfect for making the collection more distinguishably Spring.
Long live the house of Marni, and long live fun!

I wish people dressed that way in Public..or perhaps they do, just not in this tiny village I call home. (e__e);

I love the mis-match, and was the only one in school who dressed "funny" as they would say. I personally felt awesome :O. I was inspired by the Harajuku fashion in Tokyo...where they do roam the streets in about..10 layers of clothing. Haha. I've grown so lazy though now that I'm not in Highschool anymore. -sigh-

Bravo! I was hoping to death you would mention Castiglioni's collection. And a tee shirt and skinny jeans? Defintely effortless, but not as fun as playing dress up!

I'd like to say I wouldn't do terrible things in order to own the leggings in the second panel of the second image, but that would be a lie.

Anna said...

P.S. it's almost as if you made the first image look like dainty paper dolls. all ya need is a perforated line drawn around each..

The colours in this collection are beautiful. I feel like I would wear them in a rowing boat in the middle of the sea, do you know what I mean? They just seem kinda dreamy. The plaid trousers are really cute (and I don't even wear trousers!)

I was going to try and say something all analytical about the clothes, but at the ed of the day they're just all amazingly gorgeous!
I spent ages looking at the marni section in Selfridges last time I went to London (if only I could afford it..haha.) Its really timeless.

Anyway, I've just finished a project, designing outfits for ten bloggers- inspired by their personal style. You were one of them!
I'll be emailing you a picture and scan of the designs tomorrow, but I only have time to leave a quick comment now. I did a post of all of the designs on my blog, hope you'll take a quick look..

Marni can do no wrong in my eyes, i have a huge soft spot for them as they've always had such a distinctive layered look and a marni dress was the first piece of designer clothing i ever tried on ... just wish i could have afforded it!!
