it might be the time to start taking lonely walks on rainy nights:

It is a sad, sad day when you like a designer's resort collection better than their Ready to Wear.Prada Resort 2010Prada RTW Spring 2010

I mean...the more I look at Spring the more I like it, but Prada's resort was kind of AMAZING, and the Spring collection looked more Resort-y than most Resort collections from any designer (looks 16-20, anyone? bueller?) I mean, the resort made me want that diarrhea colored backdrop the color of my bedroom walls! But the idea for the Spring collection was very interesting, and the Copa Cabana prints I am starting to think are a little awesome, like the Balenciaga spandex top with the jungle print that looks like it would be on a 500-piece puzzle box? At least they're resort prints that are beachy and not Jewish-grandpa-living-in-Boca-Raton?

I am so torn. I have some thinking to do.

In the words of that guy from Zoombinis for whom you must make pizza, Something Is Not Right.

That line about 'Jewish-grandpa-living-in-Boca-Raton' was hilarious! I don't give a darn about the naysayers, Tavi, they're just jealous. You're witty, your grammar is amazing for your age, and you are fashion wise. You could be doing worse with your free time, instead you spend it going after your passion! From a 23 year old fashionista to a 13 year old one, keep on rockin'!

I love the first comment and completely concur!

I totally agree....just stay true to yourself...if you think the resort line is better don't try and fight it, just go with your gut instinct

Yep, their resort wear is way better than their ready to wear collection this year. The colors pop and the clothes are more interesting.

In regards to the first image of the Resort collection:
LOOK at that skirt!

The whole collection has hints of The Brady Bunch + old bathroom wallpaper and shaggy carpet.

P.S. I yearn to buy some of those skirts.

Yes, resort was so good. I love those two tone shirts.

i just found out about you, and i think your fashion sense is wonderfully weird! it's really is. i love how you put together random things that people would just throw out. you are a true fashion genius.

I was pretty disappointed in the Prada ready to wear, but I was really looking forward to it which I guess made it worse for me.

i did not like the RTW collection at all
and it may just be that i have to grow to like it
but the prints drove me up a wall
i had to force myself to click through the whole collection
frankly, i was left more than a little dissapointed

i quite liked the ready to wear but i agree that it definitely wasn't the most interesting - i just like the long cycle shorts mainly but i've seen others do them way better xx

Me again. I really need to get something done in my home today. But I've just come upon your blog. Seriously. 13? I hope your parents adore you. Cause I'd adopt you in a half of a second. :)
Yeh, me likes the color on the resort stuff too. But then again, I'm more of a resort kind of girl.

That middle resort look bottoms look diaperish.

Maybe because of the economic crisis or just the fashion mood of the moment, whatever the reasons are,it looks like those designs were pretty boring for this season.

I'm uninspired by both Resort and RTW... Resort looks like home sewing from the 50's (but I do like the colors).

I love zoombinis and know exactly what you're talking about...! "something is not right!"

I am not very found of Prada, just becauseI have the feeling they don't dress real people, but the resort look like very very interresting; Love the colors and prints.

Okay, could you get any cooler?! After seeing your picture in numerous copies of my weekly magazines (Grazia, Sunday Times Style, NME...well, you weren't in the last one) I checked to see what everyone was on about. Jealous much!! I'm fifteen year old British girl living near London, and I think your style is so awesome. Also can't believe you met Alexander Wang! I want your life xoxo

I normally am a huge prada fan, but I don't think spring 2010 was as special as I thought it would be. Especially in the shoe department. I just thought they were boring, and I expected so much more! Too stripper-esque with the clear heels and glass danglies.

The Resort though? fabulous. I agree.

I'd say they're both pretty boss. I could really use a gunmetal coat right about now.

It seems like she's looking back at her 90's work, while the resort collection was more experimental in shapes and mixing it all up. But what upsets me is the feeling of something too much Marni-like (if we don't consider the fact that Marni built its style on Prada's past looks).
On the other hand, we all know that Miuccia gives her best with the fall/winter collection, so for now just let's be patient and try not to think about those awful plexi-sandals...

I like colour so the resort kinda screams, "love me". xo

Jamie Sterns said...

i liked the ready to wear just as much. it's like wearing thin sheet of metal and the crystal skirts! anyone else it would have looked tacky town.

i think amazing she can split her styles so distinctly.
