I am going to get really lazy with posting for a while now to catch up on what I missed here at home while I was...not...here. That is how tired I am. Enjoy this New Yorker profile, meanwhile? And the witch/teen angst vibes I'm feeling for fall (more here and here):

Love that first photo!

God I love the craft. Also, that comment above mine is creepy as fuck.
ReplyDeleteI just saw on the TV news, a spray-on t-shirt... It was kinda like magic. Get it? Magic, witches, magic, witches... Um, magic?
ReplyDeletelove the witchy spirit for this fall! i don't know if you've already seen it but i think you would really like wildfox couture's lookbook. their collection plays on the idea of young witchcraft as well.

speaking of witch/teen, have you ever seen "teen witch"? it's freaking amazing, a must see. starring blake lively's older sister. there's a factoid for you.
ReplyDeleteThe one of the little girl on the grave is creeeeeeepy!!!
ReplyDeletewww.styleisalwaysfashionable.blogspot.com
Great blog, Tavi!!! Very happy to find it. I put your photo in my own blog (calungacorderosa.blogspot.com), with credits, of course. I'm from Brazil, you have fans here.
ReplyDeleteLoved the New Yorker profile, Tavi- just finished reading it and I'm an "old" woman! I've been following your blog for a while now and really enjoy it. I wish I had the nerve to REALLY dress how I want to. That's the thing I find most admirable about you. Once in a while I wear a vintage Lanvin dress that I scored at a thrift shop. You'd love it. Shiny fabric printed with scenes from Venice.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE CATS!
ReplyDeletepilonstein.blogspot.com/
Hmm, I only recently discovered the brilliance of Venetia Scott but that editoril with Vlada is already one of my main references when it comes to getting dressed for fall
ReplyDeletei was going prediciting what kind of great pictures you'd post and though oh teeny and witchy? The Craft, perhaps? low & behold!
ReplyDeletegreat job on everything!

ReplyDeleteI love these pix I love your sense of beauty. I think you'd like a story I wrote (I hope!) It's called Fire Maiden, about how even the very small can make a difference.
ReplyDeleteFire Maiden
Glad you had fun here in NYC!
Love the tarot cards! And the cheerfully creepy little girl by the graves (which on closer inspection read Bluebeard's Wives, Little Red Riding Hood, and Queen of Scots... Why? The world will never know), who is a cross between Wednesday from the Adam's Family, and my six year old neighbor who is adorably adorable. It's a juicy contradiction.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog, si vou plaite.
I love the first picture :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That last picture was erased out of my memory!!! That movie ! That movie where I forgot the name off, nice! My friend knows, she loves it to...wowowowow now I became member today just to post: Wowowow!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it were real life and you could see my face the wowow happend like this: Face still, my eyeball twitched 1 milimeter, and my nose started to itch..nothing special! But still :D nice!!!
*Over*
Ugh. I love 'The Craft'. Nancy's red sunglasses are so rad and ugh. Witchy/cat/bubblegum vibez. Lovin it.
ReplyDeleteTavi- you've got a marvelous blog, and cheesy as it sounds you...inspire? me.

ReplyDeletethis rich kid's blog reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...specifically:
ReplyDeleteVeruca Salt: Daddy, I want a squirrel. Get me one of those squirrels, I want one!
Mr. Salt: Veruca dear, you have many marvelous pets.
Veruca Salt: All I've got at home is one pony and two dogs and four cats and six bunny rabbits and two parakeets and three canaries and a green parrot and a turtle, and a silly old hamster! I WANT a SQUIRREL!
Mr. Salt: All right, pet. Daddy'll get you a squirrel just as soon as he possibly can.
Veruca Salt: But I don't want any old squirrel! I want a *trained* squirrel!
Mr. Salt: [wearily] Very well. Mr. Wonka? How much do you want for one of these squirrels? Name your price.
Willy Wonka: Oh they're not for sale. She can't have one.
Veruca Salt: Daddy!
Look at the little kitties!
ReplyDeleteoooooh i love those kitties!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE. IN LOVE. WITH THE PINK HAIR!
ReplyDeletegotta say i'm pretty tempted to go out now and do the same to mine
Love the pic of the girl in black with the ratty hair on the bed with the kinda rococco inspired decor background. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteVery good fashion inspiration! To my opinion I don't really like the pictures of naked people, but I like the rest- especially the tops over skirts.

Необычный стиль для такого возраста
ReplyDeleteLove these photos. Especially the one of the girl with the pink hair and the girl on her bed. Too many people associate the goth look with being severe and harsh, but those girls' makeup and clothes were very soft and pretty.
ReplyDeleteso jealous of the girl with the head phones on, i wish i could love nice with a middle parting!
ReplyDeleteI finally got to settle down with what is now last week's New Yorker and read the article about you.
ReplyDelete1. It sort of freaked me out in the same way that something I remember from when I was 14 or so, called "Kids Did It" in some kid magazine, which always made me feel pressure to do something cool when I was a kid, but x40 since now I'm not a kid and I still haven't "done it." but also, and more importantly...
2. I have really enjoyed reading your blog - discovered through the also amazing Spencer Tweedy blog - and really admire you and what you're doing. I think what one of those Mulleavy sisters said explained it perfectly - the "wish I could read that book again" feeling. It's great to rediscover the world through your lens and get all re-excited about it. Thanks for that!!
lol, satanic kittens. if you're into Tarot and its symbolism, you should give Alan Moore's Promethea a try.
ReplyDeleteNice pics! : )
ReplyDeletevery cool combination of picsss
ReplyDeleteI like to 3º picture!!
