you're invited...

Tomorrow, April 29th...
bof
In collaboration with The Business of Fashion, Jefferson Hack will be doing a live question-answer session about being a fashion pioneer and it will livestream right below tomorrow (after I figure out all this H&MTL or whatever it is you kids play with nowadays. ETA: Fixed! ETA, again: The HTML funked up my layout so I got rid of the video, but you can't watch it anymore anyways.)
Ask him questions! Learn about the beginnings of Dazed and Confused and AnOther and those spectacular bowties with which he seems to be smitten! I will sprint home after school to catch the last of it.

also: would you say theres a modern day equivalent to sassy? i know you said magazines today have picked up some of the sassy ways.. but an'alternative" teen girl zine?? nothing i can think of seems to rival sassy.

Tavi Genius:

It´s an excellent idea to bring the concept of Sassy magazine back. However I think you should name it Tavi. It means, as you know, good in hebrew.

I´m still waiting for your story about Oscar Wilde´s fashion lectures.

much lovies,

Mathilda Kovak

SO, um, this is totally random and has almost nothing to do with this post but has anyone seen The September Issue yet? With Anna Wintour? And the September issue of Vogue (well, duh). Has anyone seen it yet? What do you think of it?

Congrats on being the only real blog to snag the interview. I'm more into photography than fashion--farm&fleet is my fashion boutique--and I only tuned in because I had a few minutes to kill before I planned to be off camera in hand.

But too my surprise I enjoyed it so much I put the camera back in the bag and watched to the end.

So double congrats on the part I hope you didn't miss--where Hack defended a young fashion fan sitting in the front with an old angry editor snarling about the hat blocking her view. I wonder who she (young) is?:-)

Coo. Can we ask him what its like to be Kate Moss' babydaddy?

Dear Tavi,
you will most certainly not read this comment as you have like billions of comments on each post but I just wanted to say, as I think many others did to you that you are just incredible.
I just read your entire blog from the first post to this one.
First of all it's kinda fun to see how much you've changed throughout the posts you write and years that have passed. For example at first you signed "yours truly" and other things like that.
Also, I wanted to point out the fact that you are a great inspiration, incredible wait, I already said that original, and amazing and I've been quite interested in fashion since I was twelve (I'm nearly fourteen) and seeing your posts and your photos really made me want to try and Create my own blog, and also, I was always kind of afraid to wear things different from everyone else, you can't imagine how people at my school criticise but after seeing how persevering you are I'm gonna.
This might sound weird but I think you have a personality so different and new, and you bring something so original to the world, not only fashion-wise.
and to continue I am a huge fan. Of you, of how you dress, we don't have the same taste in clothes but that makes you even more interesting.
See, Im French and Ive lived in London since I was three. And I was cutting out things in magazines when I came accross a Vogue. A French Vogue. And as I look through it I find this 3 page article about you. I read it entirely and I found it pretty much very cool. I use cool and amazing often because of a lack of English vocabulary, but don't mind that, and I had already seen wait read an article about you in a French glamour so I decided to go on your blog. And I loved it. This is what you could call "coup-de-foudre" and here I am.
And now on my wall, in my bedroom you can see a very nice article about a grey-haired girl called Tavi Gevinson, you heard of her? Next to a nice vintage Bruce Springsteen "vinyl" is that how you sy it in English? Hm, anyway
well, no that's pretty much it. I could write pages about how awesome you are, how your blog is addictive and how I wish I could find some Sassy magazines to read.
But I think this pretty much sums it up, no?
And I just wanted to recommend you it's a 90's series in the style of sassy and freaks and geeks I think you probably know it, it's called My so-called life.
And, another show I really enjoyed, more 70's though, I'm a seventies freak, it's called Life on Mars. But it's the us version. Not uk.
And now dear Tavi I say goodbye and I will continue to read those great posts of yours and my blog is very much suckish for the mo there's about three posts but oh well, I'll add more stuff later.

Much love,

Nina.

Oh and if there's any weird thing you don't get it's my iPod correcting me. Yyeah I typed it all on a 3 inch screen :)

I really enjoyed reading your last post about Sassy magazine. The articles sounded so... well, genuine. They were telling people to be confident and weren't afraid to make fun of themselves. (Can you imagine any magazine doing that now?)
Also Happy Birthday for a while back.. Being fourteen is great!
