we love you conrad

Note the dog pee in the bottom left.
Today I tried to dress like a date from the 50's, thinking of Kim McAfee and Winnie Cooper (I know Wonder Years is 60's/70's, but just that whole Winnie and Kevin dynamic, ifyouknowwhatImean). Roller rink, ice cream, lovebird barettes, and how to tie a tie for your fancy date skirt.

Goody barettes, Repetto shoes.

Thrifted sweater, Girl Scout patch from troopmoore on ebay, Blood is the New Black tee, and skirt fr0m the 50's sent to me by PollySue's Vintage.

I went on an insomniac's ebay rampage the other night, searching vigorously for girl scout patches as inspired by the hand-me-down sweater I wore last week. I had forgotten I'd bought them til they came the other day. It was very pleasing, and I concluded that I make good decisions late at night.

I wish I'd also gotten the Pancake Breakfast and Random Act of Kindness ones, but my need for cheese is covered by the Girl Power in the upper right. Also, did you know there is a Girl Scout patch for basically every occasion imaginable? At a certain point I was expecting to see "The Mafia Takes Teamwork" or something, but this also could have had to do with whatever time it was.

  9. How ironic, I won Agent Lover's contest by saying my Wilderness Girl's patch (obvs, I'm a d00d) would be a "El Viejo Peludo" patch which, literally means, the hairy man. haha
I made a paper patch for it but your Roller Skating patch puts it to shame.

  46. You kind of remind me of some kind of parallel universe, dystopian-futur-past kind of roller girl who serves ice cream cones that make you chipper and happy, except your ice cream cones make you more of a misanthrope and deadpan like Daria, and the pee on the ground just adds to that affect.

  55. Dear Tavi Gevinson
Your blog is well the only one I read. I look at others and I find them very dull. I have been thinking for a long time about a lot of the things you talk about; the push of the underdog who I guess is the over dog but then where did that underdog go?, the need for a culture fashion magazine not one that is just pushing to what they think they should be but where people pick it up and say “Oh! This is me, I feel cozy and confident with this magazine I shall read on.” I want a magazine that makes me not feel stupid like everything is dumbed down. I love clothes because they get me going visually and mentally and that all ties into culture and art and people and it can just fly into so much and blah blah, and I just put all of that on. Amazing. I love what you’re doing.
    Sincerely Kathryn Chuber
    Dear Jane Pratt
I want you to know that, when I was all black wearing, make out to screamo, write angry scribbles in my diary 15 year old, the only thing that made me truly happy was receiving Jane magazine. I still have all the issues under my bed that I read when I’m feeling sad about how shitty my magazine options are now. My only dream was to write for Jane and now I’m 19 wanting to work for my true love (Jane) and it is not there. Make another. Please.
    Sincerely Kathryn Chuber
I have a couple ideas for the magazine and I know it’s too late but if the magazine does well it’s never too late.
    Names
Glutton> because it’s hungry for culture and knowledge and fashion like I would want the readers to be but that’s supposedly a sin so may be not it does sound a bit dark, in a good way?
Bleach>because in my hopes and dreams you would be cleaning things up a bit and make my world a little bit more squeaky clean
Girl>simple who is it for girls
    Story ideas
Runaway stories that are real, and then a shoot with great runaway themed dress. Like Wal-Mart pictures with the hope that they did not actually get abducted.
    DIY idea
Make a mold of any body part hand foot head you could make a bust and then put wax inside and then make a candle how fun to watch your bust burn on top your piano good for sound I don’t know.
