Before I go...

Ahh. Last post before BEACH.

So the other day my friends and I played this game in Old Navy where we split up in teams and put together different outfits and make a huge mess all over the store and embarrass ourselves. I saw these bathing suits and was instantly reminded of American Apparel. So compare. AA:

Similar, no? Of course the Old Navy ones have those awkward and unnecessary holes and drawstrings....they had silver ones too that I could not locate online. EDIT: I'm not planning on buying any of these, as they would never fit, but I love to hear what you guys have to say about them!

Target has really cute AA-esque bathing suits without the embellishments -- I got one in a charcoal-y graphite!!

i actually prefer the old navy ones for some reason...i feel the need to be out there - even in bathing suits :) but, that sounds like a lot of fun what you did with your friends!!!

oh wow. Well actually the AA ones are not supposed to be used for swim wear, even though they say they are. but I like both though

They're both kind of scary honestly. Very "70's snuff film" but AA loves that kind of stuff. But think of the bright sun shining on all that lame...you could blind people.

I'd go for the one-piece at ON, it's substantially cheaper than AA I'm guessing?

Haha, I'd say that while I agree the Old Navy ones have all "those awkward and unnecessary holes and drawstrings," they'd be much less likely to fall off. Which is important.

I can't imagine myself wearing those metallic ones to the beach. Maybe for a photoshoot (in my dreams!) I would. Hahaha.

I don't think I would wear them as bathing suits, but I am weird about my bathing suits but I like them for layering!

I suppose they are cute in theory, but a shiny lame swimsuit in stretchy material right up against one's stomach sounds pretty nightmarish for 99% of the population.

I am planning a post on ON soon too...I think they are going through an identity crisis.

I love lame. I'd love to get a black and gold lame bikini. (The straps being gold, the rest being black) They have one similar to it in cloth black, but I'd like it to all be shiny.

ahhh if only i had the courage to wear one of those little metallic numbers to the beach...haha

I bought the gold one from AA (the tube bra) I'm going to wear it for my bright n tight themed birthday party and to wear under my black tankini to give it a big of a change

I think they are fun. Good to wear under something crocheted or very sheer.
