top + clamp thing, gifts from Proenza Scouler. DIY'd skirt from dress from Salvation Army. yard sale belt.
I must say the clasp part is VERY mesmerizing and would probably be distracting if I wore it to school. The colors remind me of the bottoms of CDs, which are also mesmerizing. You could probably hypnotize someone with the shiny part, and then make them buy you more of these in more shiny colors so you can hypnotize them even more. It's practical, too!
FUN!
ReplyDeletevery pretty!
ReplyDeletehave you read Bust magazine at all? i just read the latest issue the other day and it seemed up your alley.
did someone say mesmerizing? lolz
ReplyDeleteEven though I can only see a little of the outfit, I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou must now but a very tall dog to walk and make the clasp a leash!

Hey, cool to see some of what you are wearing.
ReplyDeleteWhich sounds super creepy. What I mean is, I take your ideas as inspiration for my own short little sallies into fashion outfits.
47 years old, and clueless about what I like in fashion... no, that's not right - utterly uncertain how to put it together to express me and still look put-together for the office (I work as a CAD drafter in an Interior Design Office - the trends there are represented in full, but the designers don't get creative with their outfits... )
well thats creative tavi!
ReplyDeletelove it! i like the pop of green against the foral print. and love that you got the dress at the Salvation Army! My favorite dresses i got there! http://artofavantgarde.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteIt's good you're tiny enough that this works as a belt.
ReplyDeleteHi tavi, I left this comment on your post about hole but I dont know if you will read that far back!! I put "you might find my post useful. I am such a huge hole fan so I collected all the official music videos I could find and put them all in one post. You can find it here" -

Ross-I only clamped it onto a belt
ReplyDeletepaddy razzi-Thanks for the link!
I think you could probably use it for keys too, or a pencil case? if it's a really nice pencil case.
ReplyDeleteBut i like how it gave your outfit a nice touch. Love the whole buckles and belts thing.

this is so much fun!! lusting the skirt and belts :)

Wow, that's a quite nifty place to put it. I probably would have place it on the top handles of my school bag and tied it around the shoulder strap. But ultimately, not as cleverly placed as you.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this belt malarky going on!
ReplyDeleteOh.... Well I thought the distressed leather and friendship bracelet like weaving went well with the oil-spill metal and green bits. But apparently you did too.
ReplyDeleteOwhh, very cool / shiny / MAGPIE.

Lovely flowers <3
Interesting use of that collar/belt! I wouldn't have been creative enough to think of wearing it like that ~
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have used it as a camera strap, eh? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove what you did to revive the life of this belt- the loop, the colours of your clothes and the additional strap..that is skillful, that doesn't come easy for some people..

In the picture above you can also see (if you look carefully) a small engraving on the case link back, just on the lower right of the crown. link This seem to be link a marking that will make it easier to spot a replica / fake Speedmaster watch as it is quite difficult to reproduce. For now.
