Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture

It's times like these where I wish I didn't describe so many things using the word "amazing" so that it would have more meaning here.

  5. I know - overuse of superlatives makes them meaningless... In my business anytime I read 'excellent' or 'perfect' I want to gag!

  9. Yeah...I completely agree with your thing about "amazing." We need more words in the English language to describe varying levels of omgmindblowingfacepunchingawesome. Which this collection definitely is...I hadn't seen this before, but...just wow.

  12. It's so amazing that my mouth dropped when I saw a vag surrounded by hand sewn sequins. Can you imagine walking down a red carpet with that? At least the paps will love it.

  18. Amazing! ;-) It's true - but I would love to see these incredibly detailed garments up against a plain b/g. At the moment it's all a bit 'decorative overload' :-)

  20. I'm coveting the ombre feather dress with the jacket. I bet it's fantastic in motion!

  21. This collection conjures one word in my mind: Decadence.

Or possibly something like "Decadence in its exquisite creepiness".

  22. The Givenchy couture collection for this year was absolutely incredible!

imo the most impressive collection of gowns for F/W 2010.

Chanel impressed with a huge show, Dior with wonderful colours, but I think the real star of this Haute Couture season was Riccardo Tisci and Givenchy.

  24. Well "amazing" is probably the only word to describe! According to Tim Blanks, “in obsession is born the cult of couture.” This could be no more visible than in the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2010/11 haute couture fashion show!

  25. I know exactly what you mean. I chronically over use the word 'amazing; to describe everything from nabbing the last free table in starbucks to every successful purchase I make. This collection truly is amazing. Almost Goddess-like. I would do bad things to wear one of those dresses. X

  30. It definitely is amazing. Amazing and beautiful.
I would ecstatically wear any of this to my own wedding! The second and last ones on the bottom photo are my favourites - Tischi is a genius!

  31. I'll admit to not being keen on the vaginal scaffolding going on with dresses 1-3, but the presentation is awesome, very French. The dark one in particular fascinates me! I'm also getting a whiff of Eau de Marriage about this, but the corsetry looks are definitely flattering to someone with my shape, so all is forgiven!

  32. Wow,each and every piece in Givenchys collection is almost angelic-like.I love the intricate detailing, there has evidently been SOO much attention to detail in designing and making these. Its incredible! :D

  35. I saw this on Style.com yesterday. If I were ever to get married (in some parallel universe), the first dress is my dream wedding gown. There is something dark, hidden in the light and airiness of that dress. Amazing (it just is)!

  36. At first I was critical of this fall's Givenchy but now I cannot get over the exquisite detail. its stunning really. xx GG

  40. damn, these are impressive. they really do look like exoskeletons. the lace, the ornamentation, these fringy-feathery dresses. would love to see them in motion. a sincere "Stupefying!" seems justifiable here.
by the by, you should consider utilizing a synonym glossary. many writers use one, only few admit to it ^__^

  41. Alright, rude warning:

Yikes! Now we are not only starving our models but are being extra-humiliating to them by showcasing their vulvas.

    Okay, I'm done.
I think I'm just too 'crunchy' to understand why someone would want to do that to herself.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the details, just wish they had a slightly different sub-context. Or something.

Hm. Didn't Tom Robbins write a novel once...?

  47. The dress with the feathers looks very similar to a dress designed by Christian Siriano, for his collection on Project Runway, needless to say they are all beautiful!

I love how the dress are put into perspective, and how they are shown in front of the decorative wall, it really adds to the Baroque and Romantic feeling, and one almost gets the sense of France, pre-Revolution, making it very ‘Marie Antoinette’, while staying modern.

The perimeter of this flag is double stitched and the team logos are screen printed into the flag so they remain durable and won't peel.
