already thinking about fall

Already I am feeling sweaters and denim and being bored at school and Sassy and maybe dying my hair again. Then when it comes time for all of this, I'll be watching The Virgin Suicides and wanting to go prance around in a field on a hot summer day. In a long white dress. Catching lightning bugs. Dammit, Daria!

  12. Planning ahead is good-I haven't even considered autumn wear, it'll probably be boots and knitted, warm things again though.
You should dye your hair pinky-red like Kurt's. Everytime you wash your hair, your bathroom tiles will become a little more colourful..

  14. I just found "How Sassy Changed My Life" and "Dear Diary" at a used bookstore this week, each for only $3! I thought of you and my angsty teenage self screeched with joy at my finds.

Also, have you seen/read the Kurt Cobain graphic novel? It's pretty cheesey, but definitely interesting.

  18. Ummm I'm pretty sure you should be 27--like me-- and my best friend, because we like all of the same things, down to Daria, Freaks and Geeks, and I used to actually subscribe to Sassy way back when. Weird.

  19. I think we´re ageless.

I´m 51 and like the same things.

Generation is just a marketing invention. We´re all connected by the same tastes and feelings, from Commes des Garçons to Daria.
Twenty first century is the time machine where we meet to exchange messages of all times.

About school, I think it´s boring for everyone. I used to try Daria´s formula. Mock the "interesting idiots." But, with time, I`ve learned to aknowledge the importance of this apparently meaningless obligation. The world is full of idiots and we have to deal with them. And, as you said, Tavi, in that brilliant chronicle, sometimes even them surprises us with a moment of joy and friendship.
Besides, we´ll always have the unpopular Daria to rimind us we don´t give a damm. Beijos!

  36. You are such a little shit. it breaks my heart to see that little pre-teens like you (or whatever) think that you knew what the 90s grunge/punk/riot grrrl scene was all about. You were just a twinkle in your parent's eyes then. Courtney Love is a piece of shit (and always was) who added nothing to the scene. In fact, we all hated her for being nothing more than a flake who most likely ended up killing Kurt. But you would not know anything about that because you were not there. You didn't experience any of it first-hand: not the punk scene, the zine scene, the grrrl scene -- none of it. Sure, you can revel in it, but it's long gone & none of your paperback novels or $15 magazines can substitute for what it was really like. Stick to what you know: being an over-priveliged brat. Over and out.

  37. Why do you have to be so rude, "i.think.im.dumb" she didn't say a thing about knowing the "scenes" and being around during all the grunge stuff. All she did was say she had an interest in it. Whats wrong with that!? And I know people like you, you say people don't appreciate your style and the things you like but when someone comes around and says that they're interested in it you shoot them down and tell them they're dumb and that they have no purpose being a part of it. Make up your mind and stop being such a jerk!
