Just wanted to tell you that you inspire me. I went to your archive because those are my favorite tavi blogs. I trashed half of my blog and made it more personal. I loved the blog you wrote about in your closet. I loved the wood ladder with paint all over it. I also loved the one about how your hair looked like a loaf of bread. You make me so happy. You are a treasure!
Um, can I hug you? You're 14 and you know who Louis Bourgeois is (and love her)? You win Best Human Award.
I miss her terribly. She was such an inspiration, and I always secretly wished I could go to one of her salons and have her rip apart my work just so I could bask in the awesomeness that (still is) Bourgeois.

Tavi, after this post i doubt i will ever be surprised by you. 14 years old and you know Louise Bourgeois, an amazing artist, one of my favourite sculptors ever, a woman 7 times your age... you are amazing too...
I didn't know who she was until I was assigned to do a project on her last month. I wish I had learned of her earlier because she was such an infectious, unique, brilliant woman. I really truly admire her.
I find it amazing that she was "only discovered" by the time she was 70. I love her work and I'm so glad that I've had the chance to see some of her work exhibited.
Most amazing sculptor of the last century. Truly someone who made advances for the world of art and design by playing by her own rules. The world has lost one of the best artists, and I have lost a dear friend.
She was such an amazing woman and a huge inspiration. I will always look to the print on my wall "BE CALM" and think of her beautiful soul. May she rest in peace.
And I thought she would live forever... she had such a strong presence in the female art world and continues to with her enormous sculptures. Truely inspiring woman. I admire you tremendously for having knowing this artist at your age, I only discovered her my senior year of college. I believe you have the power to do great things in this world just as she did.

i was exactly at your age when i saw her work, "maman" the giant spider, in istanbul biennial and i felt like hugging a spider for the first time in my life. i was so into mythology back then. the spider, mother of fine arts, was there in an ancient byzantine church with all her glory. i guess it was a moment of feeling what artists are capable of, how they can relate to one's inner soul. a feeling of infinity.
I saw some of her work on another blog too--I hadn't heard of her before--but all of her work looks amazingly intriguing. she seems to have been a truly talented lady!
