  1. Hi Tavi! I read your blog everyday so I'm gonna comment today! I was just wondering, what do you think about FUR in fashion? Anna Wintour wears it, and many designers use it. Stella McCartenay doesn't though, but what do YOU think?

  2. I like it a lot!

  3. what did you think about balenciaga? personally I liked fall better than spring just a tad bit. Im not sure why though! I think it's because i like the shoes and the pastels...

    ReplyDelete
  4. I like the collection though stripes can be hard for some to wear.

  5. Sam-It wasn't supposed to be bad! Just showing how a look can be updated.

Art fanatic eeeek-Personally I only wear fur if it's vintage. That's all I can say on the matter for now, I'm always forming new opinions on it..

  7. I did not really like the spring collection. It seemed to "Him" if that makes sense. I found that the shapes are kind of used each season. The spring collection is much better. The color block looks much better on the fabrics for fall. Balenciaga, in my opinion, needs to expaned -- but then I guess you could say that about any brand. Balmain (always gettin' on this house's case) really needs to branch out, the same collection over and over? Please!! This is a simple, yet clever post. I like how you compared the two. WHICH one is your favorite out of the two? Happy Fashion week/month!

  8. It seems like a lot of "Spring" collections got confused with "Fall" collections. like Rodarte's, or this one.

  11. This is definitely an update, same awesome rectangular graphics and sweet color combos but I also love the new colors. Sometimes when something works and still feels fresh there's no need to make drastic changes

  12. love the unexpected color combinations!!! The third one is my favorite!

  13. Hey Tav,

Nice picture heading the article below - certainly illustrates the fast paced nature of your trip! I'd title it, "Kawakubo Dreaming" :-P Regarding The Virgin Suicides - you should have a look at the movie 'Picnic At Hanging Rock' - or at least some pictures from it... And thanks for answering the person's question about your theatre work so comprehensively _ I shall check out some of these productions that you've seen fit to lend your significant talents to! ;-)

P.S I think the article was well written. It captures nicely where you were at at the time.

  66. I like that color palette of Balenciaga. The pastels are perfect for spring/summer. I also like the pastel looks at Burberry Prorsum.

What I liked most in that collection are the colored leather trousers!

  72. Yes, the colours are perfect. Especially the mint greens. I'm a huge Balenciaga fan. I love all the akward shapes in the shoulders. Amazing.

  73. Dear Tavi,

The colors are beautiful but the look of stripes...It kind of reminds me of a glitch. A very colorful easter egg themed glitch with the stripes. The look also looks very hard to pull off. Not everyone can wear stripes like that. It feels new, fresh, and updated, just something I wouldn't prefer. That's my opinion though.

Your blog as always is full of exciting fresh new things and very fashionable indeed.

If you could so ever kindly visit? If anyone could ever so kindly visit?

  76. It's funny that so many people post you a comment! I mean, your famous! That must feel great! Well after all it must be annoying to read all the comments. But you would be crazy if you would do that, there are simply too much comments! ><
By the way, you should post a outfit again! Those are the nicest on your whole blog!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I can't explain why neither, but I prefer this season than the spring one. The whole collection was particularly interesting with the interpretation of the quilted fabrics, the introduction of "graphic paper" as a pattern, quite surprising to me.

Though, I'm still disappointed by this show. He keeps exploding the same futuristic, sci-fi universe, all the time.
I was surprised by the 2009 fall collection because he stepped out from his comfort zone. I would like to Nicolas Ghesquière making some real new research, experimentations.

  78. orange and turquoise!! the perfect combination!!! but those legss!!! jeezes!! so skinny its really not normal anymore :s

    ReplyDelete
  79. True- the style and shape is something that has been used before, but the colors gives it a fresh OMG-I-want-right-now-I-dont-wanna-be-stuck-in-snow kind of imagery. Like candy floss (or cotton candy, either way), sunny balconies and liquorice allsorts. With black sequins.

    You know?

" YES YES YES YES YES!!!! EXACTLY! OMG I couldn't put it in better words. This will probably seem weird, whacky, perhaps even creepy, but when i saw those looks on your page, and then that sentence, it felt like the whole world came together, everything is where it needs to be.
