home!

Tonight we got home from Tokyo. I'm still sort of recovering and trying to figure out WHAT just happened in the past week but it was amazing (I know I use that word to describe a lot of stuff but it is really really meant this time.) It was a whole other world though, and towards the end I found myself ready for home. Then I saw a guy on the plane wearing a shirt that said "I (heart) hot moms" on it, and was reminded that American flight attendants don't wear bright purple like Japanese ones, and that I would be going back to school on Monday...so that's that.

Once I find out what is for the blog and what will be included in an article I'm writing, I will ramble and rant like I normally do, but for now I'm too lazy to upload any photos or even go downstairs to get a glass of Nesquik even though it sounds really good right now. Once I am not out of sorts, and have a few more sorts, and then some, I will talk about depressing airports and amazing Japanese toilets. But I will keep what it was like to meet Rei Kawakubo to myself. The most special moments are to be kept secret and I won't need to write a post to remember what happened.

And, because I don't like a pictureless post...This is a main reference point for hair dying want/need.
Soooo...what'd I miss while I was gone? It doesn't make much sense that I'm a blogger that doesn't have a laptop and usually posts about most events and shows days after they happen. I'm like some old hag with a walker trudging past a running marathon, the bright green tennis balls befooting my wretched tool juxtaposed with the neon sneakers of these fast, with-the-times younguns. (I realize I am a youngun, but with a slow computer.)

I think I have the energy to get Nesquik now.

hey don, i think that mandolin needs a little more booty. god bless you.

Miss Autumn DeWilde took these at the Rodarte studio in New York the night of the Pop party during Fashion Week. She emailed me this morning: "I'm taking James Franco down! Does he send you pictures like these? Hahahah (wicked witch laugh)"
Nope, he indeed does not! I love Autumn and I love her pictures and I'm so happy whenever I see her. And she has a cool house. And makes me look decent in photos.

THE SHOOOOOZ. When they arrived at the studio a few days before their show I was SO EAGER to try them on and in retrospect maybe being a TAD pushy to whoever was opening them up. Oopsydoops. But seriously NOM.
And in the outfit for the party...she took a cool polaroid of Kate and me mid-sentence and we look like zombies! Another reason why I need a scanner.
MENACING!

Soooo Autumn, ya happy now?

gobble gobble gobble

I'm bummed I can't be home with family and friends to celebrate today but I don't think that whatever is happening to me right now (this is a scheduled post) might ever come up again. I'm thankful I can be here and thankful everyone at home is healthy and happy.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

Since it's taken me weeks to recover from how amazing it was and I think I am just barely able to write about it now.
From an infinite abyss of a runway projected on a runway projected on a runway and so forth came an army of creatures with armadillos for feet and cheekbones in massive 3-D. Flooding out of the creatures’ sculptured dresses were underwater and earthy prints in an unnatural and slightly eerie symmetry. The way these dresses seemed to become one with the models and the alien claw shoes clung to the feet, it was as if the clothes were saying “take me with you!” in reference to a journey we can assume these creatures would soon embark on to another world, and to the journey of grasping new technology creatively which could be successfully led only by the minds of Nick Knight and Alexander McQueen.Untitled 7Untitled 11Untitled 25Untitled 24Untitled 23Untitled 19

I want to go there.

This is my last non-scheduled post for a week or so. Tomorrow morning my mom and I head to my dream destination: Tokyo!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in complete and utter disbelief still and will not get completely excited until I'm actually there and am sure it's all happening.
But oh my GOD guys, I can't wait. Well, I kind of can, because I still have to pack, but OH MY GOD!!!!! I would love to hear of any places to go but the schedule is already pretty packed...oh, and it includes meeting Rei Kawakubo, which...if you have read my blog at all, and especially if you're a long time reader, you know what that means for me. Can't even really talk about it.
SO, enjoy your weeks and here is the real post....

For a school art project, we had to make a little room, like a section of a dollhouse. I started out wanting mine to be all ~minimalistic, all white and plexiglass and stuff. Then I thought it'd be cool to add a Jeff Koons dog. Then McQueen shooz. Then magazines and books. And a bunk bed. And a couch. And a climbing rope, like the ones in gym class. Oops.
I took some of the leetle objects home yesterday and they're fashion related and appropos for ze blog. They're so LITTLE and cute! I love tiny coathangers. Oh, and all of the objects I made are supposed to follow a blue/green/red/pink color palette.
