reading certain blogs makes me feel nostalgiac of 6th grade when i first got into fashn and would speak to my teachers entirely in wilco lyrics

I've been pretty lazy about dressing lately, still feel uninspired. I love that fashion allows you to change your identity every time you change your clothes but I feel like I need a change of CLOSET. So tell me, FASHION, how am I supposed to change identity if I'm so tired of my clothes? What..you think I should TRY NEW COMBINATIONS? Are you suggesting I put an ounce of effort/creativity into something? Non, non, non. You are talking about effort and creativity to someone currently melting her brains with ANTM and lots of macaroni and cheese.
I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE. SO BORED! THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT DOGS! (Cole Mohr, anyone? Bueller anyone buellerrrr)
At least I can dress vicariously through invisible people that don't exist on Polyvore. I think it's because I read Jen's blog too much but all of a sudden I am really wanting more purple.

So I'm kind of obsessed with this tee designed by Queen Michelle. Seriously, the picture itself is great but the font used for TRUE is so killer (nerd alert) and I love how it corresponds with her name on the neck. Have already composed about 6 outfits with it in my head. The story behind it is great too. Go read it or Tyler Riggs will ruin YOUR ozone layer!
Speaking of tees, I think it would be awesome to put together a bunch of photos of how different people style the spacegirl shirt and post them up here. Send over pictures of you wearing it and once I have a good number I'll post all of em as a way to see how it can be incorporated into different styles.
And speaking of male models...image here
brilliant and totally witty sentence by me
yes i am genius and can put text on a picture
no i am not vain like derek

  1. You never did the holly golightly eye mask one.
For shame, Style Rookie, for shame.
If it wasn't for that really ridiculously good looking fellow doing Blue Steele I would be in a bad mood.

  3. i love in the end how cole's like "SHOW ME THOSE DRINKS"
aaah he's adorable. all the male modelz are.
I WANT TO HANG OUT WITH THEM.

um, any zoolander "blue steel" reference is total thumbs up. also purple is my favorite color and is probably the most prominent color in my wardrobe. sometimes i go decked out in every purple thing i own, but it really only works for that color or black.

  8. Your t-shirt is totally something I would pick up in a shop. Also feeling the purple, for years I avoided it for having red hair but recently it seems like a brilliant combination.

  12. haha, i was just about to comment and suggest you ask peeps to send in photos of themselves wearing the spacegirl t shirt..

uninspired-ness happens to the best of us, do not worry.

  13. It's natural to feel uninspired at times. I'd recommend playing a game... it would also be fun to mess with people.

Instead of all the things you're trying/purposes/aims... how about trying to dress as - not BAD - but as PLAINLY as possible. Simplicity and random things you'd never try. More exercises like that. Boring america. Wear sweatpants and a t-shirt. See how you feel. See what ideas come then.

  19. I feel the same way a lot, like I just want a whole new closet (and I have FOUR closets!) I see things on w_r or in magazines and think, "ooh, how fresh, how cute!" but I know once I wore it a few times and saw it in the closet everyday, I'd get sick of that too! Once it STOPS SNOWING here, at least I can ride the spring enthusiasm wave for a bit to conjure up some inspiration. Good luck on your search for inspiration!

awesomeness how you can reference to ferris beuler and derek zoolander in one post.

    I LOVE YOU!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Those Polyvores rule. I can totally see you wearing all of those outfits! You should do a trade with Queen Michelle! One of your shirts for one of hers!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm enthralled by Queen Michelle's t-shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Zoolander's one of the funniest movies i've ever seen.
& your collages are to die for!

    ReplyDelete
  30. AND Ferris Bueller's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah I think collecting everyone's looks with your t-shirt would be really cool, like the BryanBoy "I love bryanboy" signs, lol! I love it

It sucks when fashion gets boring, unfortunatly I've worn the same jeans and boots for about 2 weeks straight now. I put no effort in outfits any more! But I like to tell myself that its a time thing. I'm glad to hear other bloggers get lazy too sometimes

  32. I totally used the purple docs in a polyvore, too! I'm a little bit in love with them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i've felt dat way before too kinda stuck and lazy about clothes...i guess it happends to a lot of us
I call it fashion block...ok ignore that

its funny cause i been feeling that way too so I just go on looklet.com all day and dress up girls dat dont exits in clothes that I wish i had but it all just seems so old and done before.
but what im really inspired by right now is "new shapes" like cropped t's, ponchos, bat sweaters...etc.
but dont worry it happens to many of us and then one day u will see something dat will totally inspire you and get dat good feeling again :-)

  34. Ughh i hate it when you lose inspiration. I love those polyvore ideas though. Your style is so unique

    ReplyDelete
  35. i hate losing inspiration, DIYing things usually gets it back or wearing everything upside down. JFW should help though. Just died a little when i saw those purple docs, totally expirementing with a pair of rain boots (vandalize doc martens, les horreurs)

    ReplyDelete
  36. If fashion is your art and your body is your canvas, I imagine that it's natural for all artists to lose their inspiration once in awhile. . . maybe you could find a muse? A dog with totally rad boots maybe?

Haha, I loved that video, the boys remind me of my friends sometimes. IT IS BETTER TO DESTROY THAN TO CREATE SOMETHING MEANINGLESS. soooo deep.

    ReplyDelete
  37. will send a pic of me wearing the tee asap!
Oh and I totez like NEED the Queen Michelle too...
anyways...get inspired again, your blog makes my day everytime I look at it, especially your wonderful outfit posts!
