I took these pictures at my favorite bookstore in DC. The dress is from Yokoo, it has the funnest print and awesome paneling on the front. Such a pretty color too. I'm like one of those weird librarians that has many cats and a husband that looks like Pete Seeger and tells you your handwriting needs improvement and has little artsy wooden painted cats sitting on her desk next to a The Far Side calendar.

I forgot how much I loved reading.

these photos are great tavi!! i especially like the second one.
ReplyDeleteReading is one of my favorite things to do :D I tend to make up background stories about the fictional characters who wear my outfits in my head...
ReplyDeletethe third pic looks magical... with some looking like they are floating in midair. NOICE.
ReplyDeleteWell, I was about to say almost EXACTLY what Yvonne up there just said... it is pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of old library books, don't you!? And PS- the giving tree always makes me cry a little.
<3
You look so tiny next to that second book! And you totally hit the nail on the head with your description of the librarians and their wooden cats. =) That just made me want to be a librarian right there!
ReplyDeletei LOVE shel silverstein
ReplyDelete"There's a Polar Bear
In our Frigidaire--
He likes it 'cause it's cold in there.
With his seat in the meat
And his face in the fish
And his big hairy paws
In the buttery dish,
He's nibbling the noodles,
He's munching the rice,
He's slurping the soda,
He's licking the ice."
mmm yes
and i LOVE that darn dress plus the crinolinino thingy! go you

Tavi, I have been reading your blog since July and I was wondering when you were going to get the following widget. I have a hard time subscribing (it always gives my homepage problems), but I would love to follow your blog! Until then I will just have to settle with adding you to my blog roll. Keep up the awesomeness!
ReplyDeleteTavi, you are so talented. sriosly. So much of what you create is incredibly artful and evocative, not for a young person, for anyone, anyone who is a highly-paid style artist.
ReplyDeleteTeen Vogue's Blog: "Write on! It seems that bloggers are taking the fashion industry by storm. First, we reported that Fashion Toast's Rumi Neely is RVCA's latest model, and now Karla Deras of Karla's Closet is hitting the big time. The Simi Valley-based internet celeb is starring in American Apparel's newest campaign for their California Select vintage collection, thanks to a collaboration the SoCal basic brand has with Chictopia. What's next, Tavi of Style Rookie for Comme des Garcons? We sincerely hope so!"
